HDI Internships
Applications for 2027 Internships are open

Our summer intern programme brings together enthusiastic young people with a diverse range of skills to work with us on real problems brought to us by our healthcare partners, in search of a solution. By joining the team, you will work on a practical problem that makes a difference to the healthcare system. This may involve any combination of hardware, software, digital and/or engineering solutions. See the links below for some of the projects tackled by previous year interns.
You will use large language models (LLMs) extensively, including exploring ideas, coding and problem solving. If necessary we will help you learn how to use these tools effectively and assess their outputs, alongside developing your own skills and judgement.
Building a successful team is as much of a challenge as the technical aspects of a project and we will be looking to build a team that has a wide range of skills.
During your time as an intern, we will provide you with coaching and supervision. Our projects are developed in an agile/scrum project framework, and we hold regular group sessions to tease out some of the more complex issues.
Health Data Insight CIC was created as a social enterprise to address some of the tech and data issues that challenge the NHS. We are passionate about finding simple elegant solutions to real everyday problems in healthcare.
