One of my biggest passions is off-the-beaten-track travelling and I have been fortunate enough have visited over 20 countries in 5 continents. I’m now learning a new sense of the word “adventure” since becoming a mum in 2021 and have been exploring more of the UK. I also enjoy basking in the sun, yoga, climbing, reading, DIY and sharing a good meal with friends
Rebeca Fiadeiro
Project Manager and Internship Lead
Rebeca began her professional life as a Biochemist. After obtaining a BSc from the University of Lisbon, she moved to London to complete an MSc at UCL. She furthered her research skills working as a research assistant at UCL specialising in genetic disorders, followed by a PhD at Imperial College working on metabolism.
During her PhD, Rebeca took an interest in learning and writing code to identify differences in behaviour between genetic variants of a protein. This sparked her curiosity for data analysis in the health sector and she paused her studies to join HDI as an intern.
Rebeca realised that critical investigation, short and long term planning, communicating findings and an eagerness to learn new things were transferable skills she could bring to play a part in HDI’s goal of improving health outcomes – something that she is very passionate about.
On completion of her PhD Rebeca returned to HDI as a Project Manager and is currently leading the PEUGIC national project and the HDI Internship programme.
