Data Extraction Automation
Overview:
In the summer of 2019, one of our interns, Roan, worked to automate an existing internal process for extracting data. When external researchers apply to use data from Public Health England’s National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS), internal NCRAS analysts often spend a lot of time finding and extracting the data. Roan spent her time with us in the summer of 2019 talking with analysts to understand the current process and building a tool to make this process quicker and easier.

Roan's application is now used in Public Health England to speed up the delivery of data from the Office of Data Release.
