In March 2019, Health Data Insight joined forces with Professor Mihaela van der Schaar and eight data science PhD students from the Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Medicine group to explore how machine learning can be used to improve outcomes in healthcare.
Under the supervision of Professor Van Der Schaar and HDI’s medical director, Jem Rashbass, the team spent five weeks at the HDI offices in Cambridge working alongside HDI’s own team of data scientists; Jo French and Cong Chen. Together, the group explored ways in which computational algorithms and machine learning techniques could be used to maximise insights from health data.
